Learner-oriented assessment

Examinations matter. For students, parents, our schools, and ourselves as teachers they are often seen as the key indicator of success in language learning. In this talk we will be identifying simple but effective strategies of learner-oriented assessment to help our students feel more confident about the end of year examinations, with a focus on the new listening examination. We will be taking examples from the new edition of Solutions to show how we can exploit a textbook to support this approach to examination preparation.
