Please find the following information about Litera, Cornell University’s official Ukrainian Educational Outreach Initiative. Litera accepts registrations from university faculty, school teachers, organizations, and individual learners (ages 8 and up). 

👉Would you like for your students to practice the English skills they’re learning in the classroom with students at a top American university? Would your students enjoy supplementing their curriculum with fun games and activities that build English speaking confidence and cross-cultural friendships? If so, Litera, Cornell University’s official Ukrainian Educational Outreach Initiative, would like to work with you and your students!

Litera is an official volunteer organization created to provide free English-speaking buddies and educational activities for students in Ukraine who are learning English. Here are a few fast facts about Litera: 

All activities are held virtually on video conferencing platforms. 

Activities are designed to be suitable for the students’ current level of English. 

Litera’s organizational staff will work alongside teachers to tailor outreach sessions in ways which specifically support their class’s current coursework. 

These fun activities will build the students’ English-speaking confidence, and most importantly be fun for all participants. All volunteers have been certified by the university to work with children and also trained in educational best practices in order to create a safe and supportive environment for the students. 

Our programs are designed to positively supplement the participating students’ educational experiences while reinforcing an overall support for Ukraine and fostering meaningful cross-cultural connections which we hope will last for years to come. 

Litera is currently accepting sign-ups for student groups and classes.
